Mariano Moreno Award · Escuela Latinoamericana de Defensa Penal
Argentine fileteado brought into three-dimensional sculpture.
Designed and hand-painted by Noelia Zamora, the Mariano Moreno “Tanto fuego” Award was commissioned by the Escuela Latinoamericana de Defensa Penal (Latin American School of Criminal Defence).
The composition brings together flames, flowers and ornamental curves inspired by Argentine fileteado, a traditional decorative painting style. Gold outlines and contrasting reds, blues and greens give the piece depth and movement, connecting the award’s visual identity with an expression of Argentine folk art.
From design to finished piece
The process combined the artist’s original design, 3D printing in resin, surface preparation and hand-painting with acrylics. A lacquer finish completes the work.
The piece rests on a turned wooden base with a custom engraved bronze plaque. A detachable assembly allows its components to be separated for easier transport.

Carruseles
por Provincia
A limited liability company led by Noelia Zamora

The carousel as a work of art, a heritage landmark and a meeting place.
Carruseles por Provincia develops projects to create, install and restore carousels across Argentina’s provinces. Its Patrimonio en Movimiento (Heritage in Motion) programme combines heritage restoration, art, engineering and cultural management to revive spaces for play and community life that reflect each community’s identity.
Noelia Zamora leads the initiative and oversees its artistic and heritage direction. Each intervention begins with research into the carousel’s history, context and condition. This approach guides the restoration of its colours, ornamentation and components while preserving what makes it unique.
Previous projects include the comprehensive artistic restoration of the Coronel Suárez carousel and the heritage restoration of the Monte Caseros carousel, undertaken with Argenjuegos. At Boa Vista Village in Brazil, Noelia painted the carousel’s decorative panels and retouched its components during assembly.
Projects for every community
Work with municipalities spans the initial assessment, commissioning and subsequent maintenance. When restoration is no longer viable, new carousels are proposed, inspired by historic models and adapted to local needs.
Accessibility is part of the design from the outset, with solutions that can include accessible carriages, integrated ramps and wheelchair spaces. Argenjuegos provides technical support for manufacturing, assembly and maintenance.
Cultural projects and workshops complement this approach, inviting the community to take part and reconnect with its heritage.

A form
of expression.

Noelia Zamora was born in Navarro, Buenos Aires, in 1991. She lives and works in General Las Heras, Argentina.
From an early age, art was her refuge and a means of expression. Raised in an environment shaped by classical music, she found her own voice in painting and sculpture: a way to connect with emotions, expose social injustice and invite reflection.
Her training began in childhood at visual artist Ruth Schwartz’s studio. She went on to study graphic design and screen printing and began a degree in Visual Arts at UNA. In adulthood, Geraldine Schwindt’s studio became an essential setting for developing her artistic identity and technique.
Her practice encompasses painting, sculpture and interventions in public spaces. She has taken part in group exhibitions in Argentina and Canada.
Together with Ivan Schwartz, she currently runs Taller del Ángel in General Las Heras: an independently run, multidisciplinary cultural space devoted to creativity, teaching and community life. There, she teaches painting and brings together a team of teachers offering workshops and seminars in various artistic disciplines, including ceramics. The project encourages the exchange of knowledge and appreciation of local cultural heritage.
Alongside this work, she continues to develop her artistic practice and actively takes part in open calls and sculpture competitions, including the competition at La Plata Racecourse. Her work brings together artistic creation, teaching and cultural management, with an interest in strengthening the connections between art and community.
